With The CW’S Fall season roughly a month away, the network is continuing to spew out exciting new footage for DC-based shows The Flash and Arrow. The Flash, which will be making its series debut on October 7th, and Arrow, whose third season will begin on October 8th, have received new trailers titled “Guardian Angel” and “High Speed Chase,” respectively. The former preview mainly focuses on Barry Allen becoming The Flash, while the latter showcases both fresh and familiar faces who’ll appear at some point this season. Take a look!

Yesterday, a new rumor claimed that DC was planning a new television series starring Supergirl, with Michael Green attached to write and produce. Now, a more reliable source has confirmed this. According to E! Online, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are indeed pitching a Supergirl series to various networks. While the site reiterates Green’s involvement, however, the writer denied having any role in the show when speaking with Den of Geek. “Not true. Not me anyways. After much anticipation, The CW’s Arrow has finally cast the role of this season’s Big Bad. Series star Stephen Amell has confirmed that actor Matt Nable (Riddick, Underbelly) is set to play Ra’s al Ghul, the leader of the League of Assassins. After a number of references and the appearance of his dauther, Nyssa, last season, al Ghul was confirmed as the Season 3 villain at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. Earlier today, it was announced that Dwayne Johnson is set to play villain/antihero Black Adam in Warner Bros.’ Shazam movie, confirming years of speculation and fans’ wishes. The film is one of a number of DC adaptations in the works, but as of right now, it’s the only one that’s being produced by New Line Cinema. The CW’s latest superhero series, The Flash, has added another villain to its cast, and this news should please fans of Prison Break. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dominic Purcell will play Mick Rory, a man obsessed with fire who becomes the supervillain Heat Wave. He then teams up with Captain Cold, played by Purcell’s Prison Break co-star Wentworth Miller. Rory will be referenced in episode four of The Flash before making a full-fledged appearance in the tenth episode. For months, Dwayne Johnson has been teasing a role in a DC Comics film adaptation. Early speculation suggested that The Rock could be playing anyone from Lobo and Darkseid to Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter. More recently, he confirmed that he was involved with the Shazam movie, but he wouldn’t specify if he was either the titular hero or the villain Black Adam. Now, we finally have an answer. Yesterday, after I did some digging, a slew of website domains for several DC Comics film adaptations registered by Warner Bros. went viral. This is understandable, given the expectation of at least some DC movies being announced soon. However, most of these domains are old, and without any further updates by WB, they will expire within the next couple years. Firstly, both ShazamMovie.com and AquamanMovie.com were originally registered back in 2000. While movies for both characters are in the works, these domains have existed years before the films entered development. A couple more additions to the cast of Arrow‘s third season were made this week. First up, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Glee actor Nolan Funk will guest star in the episode “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak,” which will finally reveal Felicity’s past. Funk will play her “hacker boyfriend” from her time at MIT, Cooper Seldon. Yeah, that does sound a lot like The Big Bang Theory‘s Sheldon Cooper. It’s unknown if Seldon will appear in the flashback portions of the episode or the present day portions, if not both.
