RUMOR: Armie Hammer is Our Next BATMAN *UPDATED*
UPDATE 2/19/19: Yahoo! UK contributor Hanna Flint asked Armie Hammer during an interview if he had been approached for the job of Batman. He said he has not been approached by anyone who can actually give him the job, and has not been asked for his availability. ORIGINAL STORY All things considered, we didn’t have to wait too long. After Ben Affleck offically left the role of the Caped Crusader, speculation as to who would wear the tights have run ramped. Thankfully, we can put our think pieces to rest (even though they were fantastic). Our friends over at Revenge of the Fans have got the scoop on who will…

THE PUNISHER and JESSICA JONES Cancelled, as the Marvel/Netflix Affair Finally Ends
Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. And now, Netflix has confirmed the future (or lack thereof) of its final two shows. It has been announced that The Punisher and Jessica Jones have both been cancelled. The former premiered its season season last month. Meanwhile, Jessica Jones‘ third season is still set to debut sometime this year. This marks the official end of the Netflix/Marvel TV deal; every single show has been cancelled. Following the announcement, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb…

Review: WONDER TWINS No. 1 – Wonder Twin Powers: Activate?
The Wonder Twins have been apart of the DC Universe for decades. Their most notable run was during the Super Friends in the 1970s. Now, they’ve made their return to the world of comics with their own series. Wonder Twins No. 1 is a crazy, weird, and fun time! Jayna and Zan are from the planet Exxor. The twin teens have been banished from their homeworld. Why? We don’t know exactly. However, we do know that Superman feels the need to give them a home. So, he enrolls them into high school and introduces them to the Justice League. The two need to adjust to life on earth while dealing with…

FEATURE: Five Shows We Want To See On DC Universe
With Doom Patrol now airing on DC’s streaming service, I thought to myself what other properties would be a great fit for the DC Universe streaming service? I really do believe that superhero-properties fits better as TV-shows due to the serialized nature of the comic books. These are five shows we want on DCU! Justice League Dark This feels like a no-brainer to me, the short-lived Constantine series on NBC was really good in my opinion but sadly NBC cancelled it after just one season. The CW however retroactively weaved in Matt Ryan’s version of Constantine into the Arrowverse. With shorter seasons and a bigger budget, I really think that…

Review: DOOM PATROL “Pilot”
“In the series premiere episode, the team – tired of being stuck in Doom Manor – decides to visit the local town while The Chief is away. However, this seemingly harmless field trip leads to some grave consequences, including an encounter with the mysterious and powerful Mr. Nobody (series star Alan Tudyk)” official synopsis – Doom Patrol “Pilot” Hot dang. That’s a way to start a show. The End (Just Kidding) Doom Patrol “Pilot” starts the series off right. The beginning team as it starts is Niles Caulder/The Chief (Timothy Dalton), Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer/Matthew Zuk), Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser/Riley Shanahan), Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), and Kay Challis/Crazy Jane(Diane Guerrero). The show introduces each character one by one.…

Casting: WONDER WOMAN: BLOODLINES – Rosario Dawson, Michael Dorn, and More!
We’ve got casting news for y’all! There are loads of animated movies coming from DC this year, with Reign of the Supermen already out and Batman: Hush, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, and Justice League vs. The Fatal Five to come. Revenge of The Fans has picked up the cast list for the first animated solo Wonder Woman movie since 2009. Rosario Dawson (Death of Superman, Reign of The Superman, Daredevil) is returning, presumably voicing Wonder Woman again. She’s really taken the role in stride, and especially her coming to Wonder Woman: Bloodlines. She’s been voicing Wonder Woman in DC’s Animated Universe since Throne of Atlantis in 2015. For the rest of the cast we have: Nia Vardolos (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), Adrienne C. Moore (Orange is The New Black), Constance Zimmer (House of Cards, Bojack Horseman), Courtenay Taylor (Skylanders Academy), Cree Summer (Guardians of The Galaxy TV series), Kimberley Brooks (Bumblebee, DC Super Hero Girls), Marie Avgeropolous (The 100), Michael Dorn (Atrocitous, Justice League Action,…

Review: ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL – Tons of Heart But Not Much Else
Alita: Battle Angel is about a young cyborg girl who lost her memory. The film is about her discovering who she is. With the help of her friends, she realizes that she is the key to saving the world. Rosa Salazar stars as the titular character. She’s able to play this warm and innocent girl, but in an instant turn into an unbeatable fighting machine. The entire cast does well with what they’re given. Christoph Waltz (Dr. Dyson), Jennifer Connelly (Chiren), Mahershala Ali (Vector) and deliver solid performances. However, I wish there were given better material to work with. Narrative-wise the film is a bit of a mess. It lacks…

CAPTAIN MARVEL on Track for Big $100 Million Opening Weekend
Marvel Studios‘ films tend to make a lot of money at the box office, and its next title is no exception. Captain Marvel has hit the tracking boards, and if early projections are any indication, it will continue Marvel’s streak. Right now, Captain Marvel is on track to open to a stellar $100 million+ over its debut weekend. This would make it the third MCU origin movie to reach that figure in its opening, following Iron Man and Black Panther. Of course, this is early tracking, so this number can always go higher or lower. But the film has generated a lot of positive buzz with its marketing, and it…

BATMAN VS. TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Animated Movie Announced
The next animated Batman movie has been announced, but this one is a big deal. Here, the Dark Knight will finally meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment, and Nickelodeon are teaming up for the crossover we all wanted: Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film is based on the 2015 comic book series Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which has spawned two more crossovers. In the movie, Batman and the Heroes in a Half-Shell will team up to take on the former’s iconic rogues gallery. Troy Baker, who has voiced Batman and The Joker in various projects, will voice both characters in this movie. The…
