This week, DC officially unveiled its forthcoming digital service, DC Universe. At the heart of the platform is a slate of original shows, beginning this year with Titans. WATCHMEN Pilot Adds More to Cast, Including AQUAMAN’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Production on Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen pilot is well underway, and the potential series is being headlined by the likes of Regina King and Jeremy Irons. Now, we have some more additions to the cast. HBO has announced (via TV Line) that actors Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sara Vickers, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, and Jacob Ming-Trent have joined the Watchmen cast in major roles. This marks Abdul-Mateen II’s second DC role; he plays the villain Black Manta in this winter’s Aquaman movie. No character details have been disclosed yet. Sony Bringing VENOM and SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE to San Diego Comic-Con 2018
Marvel Studios is skipping Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con next month, but the convention will still be getting some other movie goodness, courtesy of Sony Pictures. According to Deadline, Sony is bringing Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse to Hall H. The panel is said to be scheduled for Friday, July 20th at 6:15 PM. No details on who from those movies will be that panel, or how much new footage to expect. DC Universe Details Announced; Will Include Older Movies and TV Shows, Comics and More
DC Entertainment has finally shared some details on its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. And based on the announcement, it sounds like a must for any DC fan. DC Universe will be anchored by original shows, beginning with this year’s Titans. 2019 will see the arrivals of four more shows – Young Justice: Outsiders, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol. But in addition to the originals, DC Universe will feature the company’s older movies and television shows, both live action and animated.
