SUPERGIRL Will Adapt Iconic Alan Moore Story; Former Supergirl Laura Vandervoort to Play a Villain
CBS’ Supergirl held its panel at the Television Critics Association tour this week, and a few new tidbits about the show were revealed (via IGN). First up, Andrew Kreisberg announced that Alan Moore’s beloved Superman story, “For the Man Who Has Everything,” will be adapted into an episode of Supergirl this season. Titled “For the Girl Who Has Everything,” episode thirteen of Supergirl will see Kara wake up back on Krypton, unaware of how she got there. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow held its panel at the Television Critics Association tour yesterday, and the show’s cast and crew talked in detail (via Entertainment Weekly) about the highly anticipated spinoff. Awesome New TV Spot for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Released
With the marketing campaign for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice fully underway, a slew of television spots are expected to be released in the next few weeks. Today, director Zack Snyder has shared on Twitter the following promo, which will air at the NFL Playoffs. The spot features a confrontation between Batman and Superman, with the former uttering a now-iconic threat to the Man of Steel. We also get some new footage of the Batmobile. First Look at Mezco Toys’ SUICIDE SQUAD Mez-Itz Figures
With Suicide Squad hitting theaters later this year, we should be getting our first glimpses of the film’s merchandise and toys soon. NBC Officially Picks Up DC Comedy Pilot POWERLESS
While TNT has passed on the Titans pilot, this week has also offered some good news on the DC television front. It has been confirmed (via TV Line) that NBC has ordered the pilot Powerless, a single-camera workplace comedy set in the DC Universe. Basically, the pilot and potential series will follow “the exceedingly average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power as they mop up after superheroes’ town-trashing clashes.” So, in other words, Powerless will focus on a group of ordinary people in a world with superheroes and god-like beings – all in the form of a comedy show.
