AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Has Passed $2 Billion Worldwide
Avengers: Infinity War‘s historic opening weekend already cemented it as one of the biggest films in history, but the movie continued to perform exceptionally well every week since. Now, the Marvel Studios ensemble has reached a milestone that very few films ever have. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Infinity War has surpassed the $2 billion mark at the worldwide box office. New SPIDER-MAN PS4 Gameplay Footage Introduces New Villains
During Sony’s E3 presentation last night, a new look at Marvel’s Spider-Man was shown. In the seven-minute gameplay reel, the Web-Slinger deals with a prison break, only to face a few of his greatest villains. We see Electro, Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion, and Negative Man unite to take on Spidey, with hints at a sixth villain behind the scenes. It’s been a few months, and DC Films’ Justice League has come and gone. The film received lukewarm reviews and underperformed at the box office; in fact, Warner Bros. lost money on it. Geoff Johns Shifting to New Role for Warner Bros. and DC; Will Write GREEN LANTERN CORPS Movie
Comic book writer Geoff Johns was appointed as DC Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer in 2010, before being hired as a President in 2016. Today, Johns is exiting those roles, but that doesn’t mean he’s totally leaving Warner Bros. or DC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Johns has signed a new exclusive deal for writing and producing with WB and DC. As a result, he has stepped down from the roles of CCO and President at DC Entertainment. Replacing him in the former role is Jim Lee, who will continue to act as co-publisher alongside Dan DiDio. We’re less than a month away from the release of Marvel’s next blockbuster, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and marketing is in full swing. Bandai Namco Announces Anime Crossover Game JUMP FORCE
Microsoft held its Xbox conference today for E3, and there, they debuted a lot of new games. One of the biggest highlights is the reveal of Bandai Namco’s latest project, which should make anime fans happy. Jump Force is a new title designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Shonen Jump. The game unites characters from Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece, Death Note, and more in an epic crossover. Two More Writers Working on SUICIDE SQUAD 2
It’s been a while since we got an update on the Suicide Squad sequel. Originally set to begin production this fall, the film was pushed back to accommodate for Harley Quinn spinoff Birds of Prey. But now, we have word of two new writers who have been added to the team. Writer/actor Todd Stashwick has told DC Movie News (via Batman-News) that he is working on the Suicide Squad 2 script, alongside David Bar Katz and director Gavin O’Conner. Matthew Vaughn Confirms Plans for KINGSMAN Cinematic Universe and KICK-ASS Reboot
Matthew Vaughn has been a frequent collaborator with comic book writer Mark Millar, having adapted his work with 2010’s Kick-Ass and the two Kingsman movies. Now, he’s confirmed that he will continue working on both franchises, via his Marv Studios. Speaking with Empire Online, Vaughn reveals plans for a Kick-Ass reboot. IRON FIST Season 2 Will Arrive This Year
Production recently wrapped on Iron Fist‘s second season. While a lot of details are still under wraps, it looks like the new season will be out sooner than expected. During a Reddit AMA, Marvel television head Jeph Loeb confirmed that Iron Fist season two is “coming this year.” Netflix has already released Jessica Jones season two this year, with Luke Cage‘s second season arriving later this month.
