While Green Arrow was written as little more than a Batman knock-off when he was first created, the character was later developed into his own unique persona by other writers. Following its universally loved first season, FX’s Legion will return for a second season next year. Production is now underway. In the mean time, the series is returning to San Diego Comic-Con next month. FX has confirmed (via Deadline) that Legion will be part of its SDCC panel. The panel takes place on Thursday, July 20th in Ballroom 20. Showrunner Noah Hawley, star Dan Stevens, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb, and other cast members are expected to appear. This past weekend, DC Films’ Wonder Woman continued to hold very well at the domestic box office, despite the arrival of Transformers: The Last Knight. Per Box Office Mojo, he critically acclaimed superhero movie maintained the #2 spot with $24.9 million, behind Transformers‘ $44.7 million ($68.5 million over five days). Wonder Woman makes slightly more than last week’s winner, Cars 3, which grossed $24.1 million. To date, Wonder Woman has grossed $318.1 million domestically and $335.8 million overseas. Fox Sets Premiere Dates for New Seasons of GOTHAM and LUCIFER
Both of Fox’s DC/Vertigo shows, Gotham and Lucifer, are returning for new seasons next fall. But the shows’ timeslots will be different next year. Gotham is moving to Thursday nights at 8 PM EST, while Lucifer will move up one hour to 8 PM EST on Mondays. And now, we have the exact premiere dates. Another day, another box office milestone surpassed by DC Films’ latest blockbuster, Wonder Woman. Today, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the critically acclaimed superhero movie surpassed the $600 million mark at the worldwide box office. BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN to Screen in Theaters for One Night
Warner Bros. Animation collaborated with Fathom Events last year to screen two DC movies in theaters – Batman: The Killing Joke and Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. The former had a two-night run in cinemas, while the latter was just a one-night event. Now, another DC title is getting the theatrical treatment. It has been announced that Batman and Harley Quinn will screen in theaters for one night only on August 14th. This is the day before its digital release and two weeks before the DVD/Blu-Ray release.
