The film is about a boy named Billy Batson, who gets superpowers from a wizard; leading to Billy becoming Captain Marvel (now known as Shazam). Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming entered its second weekend of release, riding off of strong reception from critics and audiences. This weekend, the film faced off with new release War for the Planet of the Apes. While Spider-Man relinquished the top spot to Apes, the movie still did pretty well. Per THR, Spider-Man: Homecoming grossed an estimated $45.2 million this weekend. That’s 61% down from its opening weekend.
