SHAZAM! Is The Next DC Film
The DCEU train keeps on going. The next DC property on their film slate is Shazam! The film is about a boy named Billy Batson, who gets superpowers from a wizard; leading to Billy becoming Captain Marvel (now known as Shazam). The news is coming from The Hollywood Reporter, and the film will reportedly start shooting January 2018. Director David Sandberg (Annabelle), will be helming the project, and Peter Safran (Aquaman) will likely produce. According to Deadline, Walton Goggins has been signed to play an unknown role in Ant-Man and The Wasp. He has starred in Cowboys and Aliens, Django Unchained, as well as others. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Falls to Second Place in Weekend #2, Swings Past $400 Million Worldwide
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming entered its second weekend of release, riding off of strong reception from critics and audiences. This weekend, the film faced off with new release War for the Planet of the Apes. While Spider-Man relinquished the top spot to Apes, the movie still did pretty well. Per THR, Spider-Man: Homecoming grossed an estimated $45.2 million this weekend. That’s 61% down from its opening weekend. According to Forbes, that’s the same as Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and it’s the biggest second-weekend drop for any Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
