Batman: Arkham City Review
*Also includes a review of the Catwoman DLC Batman: Arkham City (2011) is the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum and it takes everything from the first game and improves upon it. Arkham City also adds new elements that keeps things fresh and exciting. The game’s main storyline involves Batman getting imprisoned in Arkham City, a new supermax prison that was built in the aftermath of the first game. Arkham City is a walled off and rundown section of Gotham City where the city’s criminals are incarcerated (anybody who’s watched Escape from New York (1981) will be familiar with this scenario). The Penguin, Two-Face, and the Joker’s gang are…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 4×10- “The Trial of the Flash”
The Flash (4×10) – “The Trial of the Flash” Written by: Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim Directed by: Phil Chipera Pretty much picking up where we left off, Barry’s about to go on trial for murder and quite frankly it doesn’t look good. DaVoe’s covered the bases so well that they find DNA evidence on him and that’s just impressive. So after a montage showing us exactly how screwed Barry actually is, the gang gathers at STAR Labs and tries to figure things out when Barry… kicks off the first in a line of dominoes that I’m going to call “The gang is noble beyond the point of…

Director Josh Boone Calls THE NEW MUTANTS the "Hardest" PG-13 Movie Ever
Fox’s The New Mutants was originally set to come out this April, but recently, the studio suddenly delayed the film to February 22nd, 2019. There have been conflicting reports as to why the delay. Some say Fox wants to up the ante with the horror tone and scares, while others say they want to give it a lighter tone. Regardless, writer/director Josh Boone talks about the movie with Empire Magazine (via Comic Book Movie). He addresses the planned rating for The New Mutants, saying that it’ll go the PG-13 route (a contrast from recent X-Men spinoffs Deadpool and Logan, which both embraced R ratings). However, the film is still going to…

Retrospective Review: Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1
The cover art from Awesome Mix Vol. 1, takes inspiration from Peter Quill’s Walkman. Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix Vol. 1 was released in 2014 and is one of the most unlikely successes in the history of movie soundtracks. This album includes songs that were featured in the Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) film or in the film’s trailers. Every song on this album was released in the 1960s and 1970s. The most recent song on this album was released in 1979. Most of the songs on this album were all popular on A.M. radio during this time period. The only two exceptions to this…
