Fox Extends IMAX Deal for Three X-MEN Movies
20th Century Fox has expanded its deal with IMAX to show more upcoming blockbusters in this format. It was announced today (via Deadline) that the deal has been extended through 2019. The IMAX lineup includes three of the studio’s upcoming Marvel-based titles: New Mutants, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Gambit. (No word on whether Deadpool 2 will be included.) First AQUAMAN Still and New Plot Details Revealed
Following Arthur Curry’s introduction in Justice League, the character will get a full origin story in next year’s Aquaman. Today, Entertainment Weekly has a first look at the upcoming DC film. EW’s feature includes the first official still from the movie, featuring an extra-jacked and extra-shirtless Curry. Confirmed: Superman’s Black Suit Was Cut From JUSTICE LEAGUE
Before Justice League was released, Warner Bros. kept Superman’s role shrouded in secrecy, leading to much fan speculation. One of the most popular theories was that Superman would be wearing a black suit when he was resurrected, just like in the comics. Of course, the movie came and went, with no black suit in sight. But that wasn’t always the plan. JUSTICE LEAGUE Finally Crosses $200 Million at Domestic Box Office
We’ve talked before about how underwhelming Justice League‘s box office has been. This week, however, the DC film finally passed a couple key box office milestones. On Tuesday, Justice League finally hit $200 million in North America. That’s still well below every other DCEU movie, as well as the other comic book movies from this year. It is the 10th movie of the year to hit this mark domestically. Overseas, things are looking a bit brighter.
