Gavin O’Connor to Direct SUICIDE SQUAD Sequel for Warner Bros.
Following David Ayer’s exit, Warner Bros. began the search for a new director to tackle the Suicide Squad sequel. Mel Gibson topped the shortlist earlier this year, while Jaume Collet-Serra was the frontrunner for a while. Well, now, it looks like the search has come to an end. According to Deadline, Gavin O’Connor has been hired to direct Suicide Squad 2. He is also writing a new draft for the sequel. O’Connor most recently worked with Ben “Batman” Affleck on WB’s The Accountant, making him a logical addition to the DC Extended Universe. Will Smith, Margot Robbie, and Jared Leto are attached to reprise their roles from the first movie.…

This summer, Warner Bros. put two Joker-related movie projects in development. The first is an origin story that’s separate from the DC Extended Universe; rather, it’s set in its own continuity as part of a new Elseworlds banner. Marvel TV Bringing Four Shows to New York Comic-Con 2017
We’re one month away from this year’s New York Comic-Con, and companies are now announcing their plans for the convention. Among them is Marvel Television, who’s presenting a whopping four shows. First up, Hulu’s Runaways will hold its panel on Friday, October 6th from 7:45-9:15 PM. Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb and executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage join the show’s cast on Main Stage 1-D. The panel will consist of exclusive footage from the original series, which premieres on November 21st. Next, both ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Netflix’s The Punisher will have their panels on Saturday, October 7th in the Madison Square Garden. New PUNISHER Image Revisits Frank Castle's Past
Netflix recently started hyping up its next Marvel original series, The Punisher. A short teaser trailer was attached to The Defenders, while we recently learned the episode order and titles. WONDER WOMAN is Now the 5th Highest Grossing Superhero Film in North America
Three months after release, Wonder Woman is still making money in theaters. We’ve already posted about the multiple box office benchmarks reached by the film. This week, the movie has reached some new heights in North America. As of today, Wonder Woman has grossed about $409.5 million domestically. This puts it ahead of Marvel sequels Iron Man 3 ($409 million) and Captain America: Civil War ($408.1 million). This also means that Wonder Woman is now the fifth highest grossing superhero film of all time in North America, behind the two Avengers sequels, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Rumor: John Cena Among Frontrunners to Play DC’s SHAZAM
This summer, DC Films set New Line’s Shazam as the next installment of the DC Extended Universe. The film is expected to begin production in February. David F. Sandberg is directing from a script by Henry Gayden. Recently, pre-production began, with a wide range of young actors being sought to screentest for the Billy Batson role. INHUMANS Projected for Low Box Office Debut in IMAX
Marvel premiered the first two episodes of its new ABC series, Inhumans, in select IMAX theaters this weekend. The show brings Black Bolt and the Royal Family into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, following the introduction of Inhumans on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.Inhumans has been dealing with largely negative reviews from fans and critics, after months of poor buzz from marketing.
