Anime Review: BOBOBO-BO BO-BOBO
When the evil empire is forcing everyone to go bald, it’s up to a man with enormous nose hair and afro of gold called Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo (yes that’s his actual name) to save people’s free hair. I’m wondering what the Mangaka (the word you use for manga creator) was thinking when he created the manga that this anime is based on. It has a great message behind insanity going haywire. Some of you that might have seen this hair-raiser may be confused over that sentence. I’m not talking about the insanity part. I might have gone a bit too low with that hairline. I have stretched the string more than…

Anime Review: HELLSING ULTIMATE
Yes, I know that Hellsing Ultimate is not the first attempt to adapt the Hellsing manga to an anime. But considering I don’t own a copy of Hellsing, I won’t review it. I promise that I will review it next year if I get my hands on a copy or find it on a streaming platform. Hellsing Ultimate is focusing on the Vampire Alucard, who works for the Hellsing Corporation, because of an event that happened between him and an ancestor to Integra Hellsing. It’s up to the Hellsing cooperation and Alucard to stop an army of Nazi vampires. The plot is as stupid as it sounds, but luckily for…

Anime Review: BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE
Blood: The Last Vampire is about a mysterious girl who is transported to America to slay monsters. This movie is an interesting one. Here here, there is no dubbed or subbed version in the more traditional scenes. Production I.G had American voice actors on top of the Japanese actors. It’s an anime where dub-only and sub-only have to bit the dust and go with it if they are interested. I know I might sound like a broken record considering my last two reviews, but this fits here as well. The movie is gorgeous. The studio behind it isn’t a stranger with great animation, so I can’t say that it is…

Anime Review: PET SHOP OF HORRORS
Pet Shop of Horrors is a horror manga written by Matsuri Akino. This manga later got a 4 episode anime released in 1999, which is what I’m reviewing today. The story follows the mysterious Count D, who runs a pet shop in Chinatown. This pet shop sells unordinary animals, with customers often getting killed after their purchase. The premise is what you get if a Stephen King Book and The Twilight Zone had a love child. It’s very atmospheric, which it uses to its advantage. The story comes off as a “monster of the day” (or should I say Pet of the day in this case?) with the running theme…

MY HERO ACADEMIA Live Action Movie in the Works
My Hero Academia is getting live-action adaptation! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deku and friends are being brought to the silver screen by Legendary Pictures. With My Hero Academia’s popularity being at an all-time high now is the perfect time to try a live action adaptation. The anime just finished its third season with a fourth on the way, the manga is one most successful in recent memory, the anime had a film in theaters that exceeded expectations, and the franchise even has a video game coming out this Friday! We don’t any other details on the project as its still very early in the development stage, but it will…

Three Destinies Collide in new DRAGON BALL SUPER: BROLY Trailer
The second trailer to the highly anticipated Dragon Ball Super: Broly has been released. The movie looks like it will be quite dark, with it touching on the origin of the Saiyans. I would even say “insert Superman joke here” when it comes to a specific scene in the trailer. Although, the similarities with Superman is already existing. I’m unsure of which of the two trailers are my favorite. Maybe this one considering how personal and focusing on the story it was in comparison. Dragon Ball Super: Broly is hitting theaters for Japan in December this year while getting a US release in January. If you live outside of the states…

Review: EDENS ZERO Chapters 4-9
Due to life, collecting shiny star balls and a lot of turn-based situations, I haven’t been able to keep up with the reviews lately. Meaning this review will be an overall recap of chapters 4 through 9. In the words of Quentin Tarantino, spoken by Leonardo DiCaprio: “You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention.” The classical Hiro Mashima tropes remain in this manga, don’t get me wrong. But now, it starts to feel like its own story and a possibly a good one at that. I would argue that this could end up as his best work yet (Yes I will eat my words later if I have to).…
