Marvel Studios Drops Untitled Movie from 2020 Schedule
Marvel Studios previously dated a bunch of untitled movies for the next few years, including three for 2020. However, it looks like one movie won’t be arriving that year, based on Disney’s latest schedule change. The untitled Marvel movie set for July 31st, 2020 has been removed from the schedule, and it is currently “undated.” As a result, Disney has moved Dwayne Johnson’s Jungle Cruise movie to July 24th, 2020. Composer Michael Giacchino has collaborated a few times with Marvel Studios in recent years. Ryan Coogler Signs on to Write and Direct BLACK PANTHER 2
The word is out, the word is given. And the word fresh from The Hollywood Reporter is that Ryan Coogler has signed on to write and direct the sequel to his February smash hit, Black Panther. Fans have been clamoring for news on this front since Wakanda graced the silver screen. Coogler is expected to pen the sequel early next year, with an eye on a late 2019/early 2020 start date. With over $1.3 billion in Wakandan Treasury notes (i.e. Box Office receipts), the sequel should be another hit maker for Disney and Marvel. The Eternals is one of several Marvel Studios movies in development, making up its post-Avengers 4 future. The film previously got a pair of screenwriters, and now, a director has been brought on board. Filmmaker Chloe Zhao (The Rider) has signed on to direct The Eternals. We have another box office update for Marvel’s Ant-Man and The Wasp, which has achieved one more major milestone. The sequel has now surpassed the $600 million mark worldwide. It is currently at $214.3 million domestically and $386.7 million overseas, bringing its worldwide total to $601 million.
