THOR: RAGNAROK Looks to Have a Thunderous Opening Weekend
Thor: Ragnarok opens in just over a month from now; and now we have an idea how big a hit it’ll actually be. According to BoxOffice Pro, Thor: Ragnarok is tracking to have a $100MM opening weekend domestically. In comparison, the first Thor film only made $65MM its first weekend, going on to collect $181MM in its full domestic run. It’s sequel, Thor: The Dark World, made $85MM in its first weekend, and hauled in a solid $206 million in its entire run domestically. DAREDEVIL Season 3 Will Reportedly Begin Production in October
Netflix renewed Marvel’s Daredevil for a third season last year, shortly after the premiere of its second season. Since then, we’ve heard little about the Man Without Fear’s next standalone adventure, following this week’s crossover miniseries The Defenders. Now, we may know when the season starts shooting. According to MCU Exchange, Daredevil season three will begin production in October, specifically during the later weeks. This goes along with star Charlie Cox’s past comments about filming later this year. IRON FIST Shaking Up Showrunners for Season 2
The first season of Iron Fist was underwhelming and not up-to-par with Netflix’s other three Marvel dramas for a good majority of fans and critics. However, Netflix renewed the show starring Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones for a second season yesterday. And with the new season comes a new showrunner. Netflix Releases SDCC Posters for Marvel's THE DEFENDERS and THE PUNISHER
Marvel and Netflix’s The Defenders will be among the shows present at San Diego Comic-Con next week. Today, Entertainment Weekly premiered a new poster for the series, along with the first poster for the next Marvel/Netflix show, The Punisher. Drawn by Marvel TV Creative Director Joshua James Shaw, the colorful Defenders poster features Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist standing side-by-side. Meanwhile, like past Netflix shows, Marvel’s Joe Quesada drew the Punisher poster, featuring a bloody Frank Castle. SDCC attendees can get their copies of both posters; for details on how, click HERE. The Defenders releases on August 18th on Netflix. The Punisher premieres sometime this year.

Marvel TV Bringing THE DEFENDERS, INHUMANS and More to San Diego Comic-Con 2017
Studios are now in the process of finalizing and announcing their plans at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Today, it’s Marvel Television’s turn. Marvel’s TV division is bringing a fully party to the convention, as ABC’s Inhumans, Netflix’s The Defenders, and X-Men-based shows Legion and The Gifted will make their presence known. LUKE CAGE Season 2 Begins Production
After a very successful first season, Netflix renewed Marvel’s Luke Cage for a second season. Luke’s adventures continue in The Defenders crossover miniseries this year, but fans are still excited to see another standalone story for the Power Man. And now, it looks like production is underway. According to On Location Vacation, season two of Luke Cage began filming this week in New York City. As of Tuesday, it is shooting in studio at Broadway Stages in Brooklyn. Its production codename is “Tiara.” With the season now in production, expect Marvel to announce casting for new characters soon.
