Swamp Thing has found another one of its leads. Straight from DC themselves, we have news that Jennifer Beals (The Book of Eli) has been cast as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, an original character. For you that are unaware, DC Comics’ upcoming Swamp Thing show and recent Conjuring spinoff The Nun share screenwriters. But I guess that’s Nun of my business. During an interview with /Film, Gary Dauberman talks about Swamp Thing among some other stuff. He confirms that, just like Titans, the show will be rated R (and a hard one at that). If there is something I think we all agree upon, is that DC seems to be all out with its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. Deadline has recently reported that two actresses are joining their upcoming Swamp Thing television show. The first actress is Crystal Reed, playing the role of Abigail Arcane. For you that are aware of the Swamp Thing mythos, Abigail Arcane is the wife of Swamp Thing, created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. Her first appearance was in Swamp Thing #3 in 1973. If there is anything DC fans were waiting for outside of the MARVEL-ous trailers that they showed, it was information about the upcoming streaming service, DC Universe, courtesy of Cnet. If you have $8 per month, then DC Universe might be something for you since they will give you access to a ton of comics, animated movies or tv shows. But if you aren’t into that, don’t you worry. DC Entertainment has finally shared some details on its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. And based on the announcement, it sounds like a must for any DC fan. DC Universe will be anchored by original shows, beginning with this year’s Titans. 2019 will see the arrivals of four more shows – Young Justice: Outsiders, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing, and Doom Patrol. James Wan Reportedly Set to Co-Direct SWAMP THING Pilot
Last month, it was announced that DC is developing a new Swamp Thing show for its upcoming streaming service, DC Universe. One very interesting thing is that it is being executive produced by James Wan, who directs DC Films’ next title, Aquaman. Now, it looks like Wan will have another role to play. According to That Hashtag Show, Wan is on board to direct the Swamp Thing pilot alongside Deran Sarafian. While Sarafian doesn’t have the blockbuster experience than Wan has, he has a history of directing for television, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer and House. DC Entertainment has announced some preliminary details on its streaming service, which will include a slew of exclusive original shows. The service is called DC Universe, and it promises to be the “ultimate” membership for DC fans. Called a unique digital experience, DC Universe will give fans unlimited access to its original shows.
