Details down below! According to Geeks Worldwide, WB is looking at Alexandra Daddario (True Detective) for the role of Huntress; they are also keeping an eye on Vanessa Kirby (Mission Impossible: Fallout) and Blake Lively (The Shallows) for Black Canary. DC’s SUPER PETS Getting an Animated Movie from Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. has been beefing up its slate of animated DC movies for theaters, with The LEGO Batman Movie releasing last year and Teen Titans GO! To the Movies currently playing at a theater near you. And now, another movie has entered development. According to Collider, LEGO Batman scribe Jared Stern is writing a Super Pets movie, which unites the pets of various DC characters. JOKER Targeting Two More Actors for its Cast
Director Todd Phillips’ Joker origin movie, starring Joaquin Phoenix, is currently filling out its supporting cast. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Francis Conroy are all in negotiations to join the film. And now, we have word of two more actors joining. Actor Bryan Callen announced on his podcast The Fighter & The Kid (via Revenge of the Fans) that he has joined the Joker cast. He previously worked with Phillips on the first two Hangover movies. AQUAMAN Will Reportedly Have a Post-Credits Scene
Post- and mid-credits scenes are becoming more and more common in blockbuster films. But while Suicide Squad and Justice League had additional scenes, DC Films’ other three titles did not. Legendary’s DETECTIVE PIKACHU Movie Switches to Warner Bros.
A couple years ago, Legendary Pictures and The Pokémon Company struck a deal to create live action movies based on the Pokémon franchise. The first installment is Detective Pikachu, a live action/CGI hybrid based on the recent video game. Ryan Reynolds will voice the titular Pokémon, with Justice Smith, Ken Watanabe, and Rita Ora also in the cast. Now, the film has a new distributor. According to GWW/Omega Underground, we have some new information about the upcoming Joker movie. Information about a character called Mr Warner. “MR. WARNER Supporting Male (60-70) [MR. Frances Conroy in Talks to Play JOKER’s Mother
Right after news about Robert De Niro being in negotiations to join Joker, The Wrap reports that Frances Conroy (who you might recognize from Sleepless in Seattle and American Horror Story) is in talks to play the mom of the title role that Joaquin Phoenix is playing. The Joker movie would not be the first time Miss Conroy would visit the world of DC Comics. She has lent her voices to projects like All-Star Superman and Superman Unbound.
