THE BATMAN May Add Producer Dylan Clark
DC Films’ The Batman recently secured Matt Reeves as director, replacing star Ben Affleck and putting the project back on track. The director is still working on this summer’s War for the Planet of the Apes, so he won’t be able to focus completely on Batman until later in the year. Additionally, rumor has it that the script – already rewritten by Chris Terrio – will be heavily revised. While we wait for verification of those rumors, we may have another producer for the project. According to Deadline, Dylan Clark is in talks to produce The Batman. Clark worked closely with Reeves on his two Planet of the Apes movies, While…

Charlie Hunnam Has No Interest in Playing Green Arrow – Or Any Other Superhero
There are (apparently) no plans to bring Green Arrow into the DC Extended Universe, but that hasn’t stopped fans from suggesting actors to play the character on film. The most frequently actor fancast for the role has been King Arthur: Legend of the Sword star Charlie Hunnam. However, these fans are bound to be disappointed by the actor’s comments on the idea. Speaking with Yahoo! Movies (transcription via CBM), Hunnam reveals that he is uninterested in playing a superhero. Hell, he has no idea who the Green Arrow character is. “I didn’t grow up a comic book fan and I haven’t really seen any of those Marvel films or the…

WONDER WOMAN Officially Gets its PG-13 Rating
The MPAA has sent out its movie ratings for this week, and among them is DC Films’ Wonder Woman. To the surprise of literally no one, the superhero movie has been given a PG-13 rating. Wonder Woman has been rated PG-13 for “sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive content.” So, pretty much exactly what was expected. Tons of action and violence are to be expected in these movies. Meanwhile, past DC films have had sensuality or suggestive content as a reason for their PG-13 ratings, so the trend continues here. Wonder Woman‘s rating comes just as the film is entering the final leg of its marketing campaign. Warner Bros,…

Marc Guggenheim Teases New DC Character in LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3; Expect Less Time Travel in THE FLASH Season 4
Here, we have more tidbits from The CW’s big Arrowverse panel at PaleyFest this past weekend. Rotten Tomatoes spoke with Legends of Tomorrow showrunner Phil Klemmer and producer Marc Guggenheim on the red carpet. There, they offered some new hints for the show’s third season. Legends had some major casting shakeups from its first season, removing original team members and adding new characters in season two. Season three will continue this trend, as new Legends will join the Waverider crew. Guggenheim confirms that one of these characters will be a pre-existing DC character…but with a catch. Guggenheim cryptically teases, “We’re drawing on an established character who is not from the…

Speaking with Rotten Tomatoes on the red carpet, Arrow producer Wendy Mericle confirms that this year’s finale will finally break the trend of having a terrorist attack in Star City. This is due to Prometheus being a much more personal, grounded threat to Oliver Queen and the team. “I’ll just say this: Star City…

Hans Zimmer Clarifies His Retirement from Superhero Films + Why He Prefers Christian Bale’s Batman over Ben Affleck
Last year, composer Hans Zimmer said that he was “retiring” from the superhero movie genre. Zimmer has scored several major comic book films, including The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and last year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. That is one hell of a run for any composer, so it would make sense to quit sooner or later. In a new interview, Zimmer sheds light on this decision, as well as whether it really is the end. Speaking with Inverse, Zimmer explains exactly why he entered superhero retirement in the first place, saying that he can no longer create something new and groundbreaking for…

AQUAMAN Shifts to Christmas 2018 Release
Originally, DC Films’ Aquaman was expected to be released in July 2018. Then, the studio pushed it back to an October 5th, 2018 release. Now, as production is getting ready to begin, the release date has been moved yet again. Warner Bros. will now release Aquaman on December 21st, 2018, just in time for the holidays. This date was widely expected to be reserved for James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, but the filmmaker recently confirmed that (surprise!) the movie won’t be ready for 2018. Additionally, that date is also held by Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie starring the Miles Morales character. Could that film move to another date now? No reason was…
