We have some updates on two DC Universe shows, a premiere date for the next big Netflix original, renewal of a hit spinoff, and more. -AMC has renewed Fear the Walking Dead for a fifth season. IRON FIST Season 2 Episode Count is Shorter than Usual for Marvel Netflix Shows
For the past few days, the Iron Fist Twitter account has sent out one tweet per day revealing an episode title from the show’s second season. Well, the tweets have ended, and they reveal something very interesting about the new season. Iron Fist season two will only have 10 episodes. With the exception of The Defenders (which ran for 8 episodes), this is the shortest Marvel Netflix season yet. Every season from the other five shows ran for 13 episodes. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Passes First Film Domestically, Still Behind Overseas
Ant-Man and The Wasp has been out in the United States and other markets for close to a month now, and today, we have an update on where the Marvel sequel stands in comparison to the original. Per Box Office Mojo, the film has passed the first Ant-Man domestically, hitting $183.1 million this weekend, against the original’s $180.2 million. However, when it comes to overseas, Ant-Man and The Wasp is still trailing, grossing $211.1 million vs. the first’s $339.1 million. VENOM Director Talks Sequel Plans and Lack of White Spider Symbol; New Trailer Coming Soon
Sony showcased its Venom movie at San Diego Comic-Con last week, and since then, we’ve gotten a bunch of news tidbits surrounding the film. Here, we compile a few of them. My spider sense is sensing something. It’s some news about Spider-Man: Far From Home. Unless Numan Acar trolled us all with Instagram hashtags, it looks like we have got some indirect confirmation of a few actors. Namely Jack Gyllenhaal (Mysterio), Samuel L. If a tweet from The Black List is anything to go by, we might soon have another creation of Brian Michael Bendis’ on the big screen. The Black List got a hold on a script about Ironheart (or Riri Williams as her civilian name is). James Gunn Fired from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
Early this morning, old tweets from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn resurfaced. The tweets were full of jokes about pedophilia, rape, and more. Naturally, this spawned much outrage on social media. Gunn responded with an apology explanation, saying that he has grown and doesn’t make jokes like that anymore. IRON FIST Season 2 Trailer and Synopsis Drop at San Diego Comic-Con; Alice Eve’s Character Revealed
During its San Diego Comic-Con panel tonight, Marvel dropped the first teaser for its next Netflix collaboration, Iron Fist season two. A lot of new footage was shown, but this was all that was released online.
