THE BATMAN Reportedly Taking Influence from YEAR ONE, Plus a Production Update
We’ve heard a lot about The Batman in various rumors and reports from other sites, but very little directly from Warner Bros. or DC. Matt Reeves has been writing away, while Ben Affleck is looking increasingly unlikely to reprise the role. Now, a new report sheds some light on Reeves’ approach to the film, as well as when we can expect production to begin. According to our friend Mario at Revenge of the Fans, The Batman will “bear a resemblance” to Frank Miller’s Batman: Year One. (Think of how Batman v Superman had some influence from The Dark Knight Returns.) It’s unknown exactly how much of the original comic will…

After the debacle that occurred when Christopher McQuarrie and Star Wars director Rian Johnson started a conversation on Twitter, the Mission: Impossible – Fallout director came out saying that he lost interest in doing a comic book movie. However, if a recent interview is any indicator, McQuarrie has changed his mind about the subject matter. Talking to Screen Rant, he says “To me, I’m interested in a good story. That’s really what it is. I mean, when Man of Steel came up, it was because somebody had asked me, did I want to work with Henry [Cavill] again? Which I would in a second. I go through the door that…

Rumor: Will Maria Hill Appear in SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME?
My spider sense is sensing something. It’s some news about Spider-Man: Far From Home. Unless Numan Acar trolled us all with Instagram hashtags, it looks like we have got some indirect confirmation of a few actors. Namely Jack Gyllenhaal (Mysterio), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill). This post is the first time we heard Maria Hill in the mix of names for this particular film. But considering she is Nick Fury’s closest ally, it might not be that surprising. Maria Hill has been a recurring character in the MCU. She most recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War, where she was among the characters who were dusted in The…

SHAZAM! Will not Reference Captain Marvel Title
There has been some confusion as of late when it comes to the title of Captain Marvel. We have Mar-Vell, Marvel Comics’ original Captain Marvel, we have Billy Batson, DC’s Captain Marvel, and we have Carol Danvers, Marvel’s current Captain Marvel. With both Marvel and DC releasing films starring their respective Captain Marvel’s how will they keep this from getting more confusing? Luckily, Shazam! director David Sandberg will help clear up the confusion. While talking with EW, Sandberg said: Let’s just say we’re going to have a bit of fun with that in the movie, but he’s basically known as Shazam, which makes sense because of the confusion. During Geoff Johns’ New 52 run,…

ONE PIECE Live Action TV Show Gets a Writer
In 2017, we got the announcement that One Piece was getting a live-action treatment from the creators of Prison Break. Since then, it has been silent like a crowd during an Adam Sandler comedy show. Today, we have got some information. According to one individual from the editor’s office, a writer has been hired and more info will be announced later this year. As a fan of this source material, I will give this a chance (and probably review it once it is out) but I can’t say that I’m hyped about it. How Loney Tunes meets Pirates of the Caribbean on crack is possible with live action is beyond me. The…
