Joseph Gilgun Joins PREACHER as Cassidy
It seems that the Preacher cast is coming together. We reported on Ruth Negga and Ian Coletti joining the cast last week now another name can be added to the cast: Joseph Gilgun. According to Deadline, the British actor will be playing Irish born vampire, Cassidy. The native of Northwestern England began his acting career at age ten on the long running series, Coronation Street as Jaime Armstrong. He left to complete his school and studied fashion design before deciding it was not for him. He eventually returned to acting fulltime in 2005. Comic Book Resources spoke with Viola Davis at the GLAAD Media Awards on the red carpet. With filming of Suicide Squad imminent, they asked her what drew her to the part. Davis’ response was simple: “She’s Amanda Waller.” She then elaborated with “She’s badass!“ She explained that she can relate to Waller because “She’s unapologetic. Arseface Cast For PREACHER Pilot
It seems that with the announcement of Ruth Negga joining the cast of Preacher yesterday (HERE) that the dam has broken. Deadline announced today that Ian Colletti has been cast as “Eugene Root” aka “Arseface.” Colletti has a diverse acting resume. His first role was as “Joe’s Friend” on Blues Clues. He’s also appeared on an episode of The Sopranos and the films Phoebe in Wonderland and Baby Mama. More recently he gained attention for his role in the 2013 film Jimmy and his time on the television series Rake as Finn Deane. PREACHER Pilot Casts Ruth Negga as Female Lead
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve had anything to report on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s developing series based on Preacher. That wait is over. Deadline is reporting that Ruth Negga was the first person cast for the pilot as the female lead, Tulip O’Hare. Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Ruth Negga broke into acting in 2004 on the BBC series Doctors. Two weeks ago, we reported that Lina Esco was cast as “Maze” in Lucifer. Maze is a demon ally of Lucifer possibly based on the character “Mazikeen.” If seems that after the table read, Miss Esco has bowed out of the cast. Her replacement was announced today at Deadline; Lesley-Ann Brandt has taken over the role. Born in South Africa, Brandt is best known for her stint as Naevia on Spartacus: War of the Damned in 2010 and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena in 2011. LUCIFER Adds Two More to Cast
It seems the floodgates on Lucifer news have opened in the last few days. Today, the producers have announced two more series regulars. Joining the cast are actor D.B. Woodside and actress/comedienne Rachael Harris. D.B. Woodside is a native of Jamaica, Queens in New York City. His first television role was in 1997 in the miniseries; Murder One: Diary of a Serial Killer his role continued on the series that followed. LUCIFER Casts Nicholas Gonzalez as Series Regular
More casting news from Lucifer has surfaced. As the Fox/Bruckheimer/WB collaboration approaches the start of production, news is beginning to come out more regularly. Deadline reported today that Nicholas Gonzalez has joined the cast of Lucifer as a series regular. Gonzalez is an actor with dozens of roles to his credit in a career that reaches all the way back to 1998 and a guest spot of the ABC sitcom, Dharma and Greg.
