Development on Wonder Woman 2 is speeding along! We previously reported that Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns were working on a story treatment for the 2019 sequel. And now, The Hollywood Reporter has the exclusive that industry vet Dave Callaham is joining the project as a co-writer. Callaham has a seasoned writing career, having worked on Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla, The Expendables franchise, and the 2005 Doom adaptation. Having worked with Director Patty Jenkins in the past, it is reported that she personally brought him aboard the DC Comics project. Wonder Woman 2 (working title) hits theaters December 13th, 2019. Marvel TV Developing New Female-Led Series with ABC
Over the past few years, Marvel has been dramatically increasing its television slate. The studio currently has five shows on Netflix (with the sixth, The Punisher, coming this year), Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC (with Inhumans premiering next month), Runaways coming to Hulu, Legion on FX, The Gifted premiering on Fox this fall, and two shows premiering on Freeform next year. Yes, Nick Fury Will Appear in CAPTAIN MARVEL
For a while, it has been suggested that Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will appear in 2019’s Captain Marvel, which stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers. Jackson suggested in an interview a few months back that he would pop up in this movie, as well as the next two Avengers films. Then, Omega Underground learned from production crew recruitment that Jackson is co-starring in Captain Marvel. Now, it’s happening. Deadline has verified that Jackson will reprise his role as Nick Fury in Captain Marvel. It’s unclear exactly how big his role in this movie is.
