Stephen Amell Hopes That Deathstroke Will Return to ARROW
Slade Wilson/Deathstroke was the main villain in Arrow‘s second season, serving as a truly excellent adversary. His one episode in season three was underwhelming, while there are seemingly no plans to bring him back in season four. Actor Manu Bennett said last year that he was unsatisfied with the show’s direction for Deathstroke, suggesting that he won’t reprise the role again. However, series star Stephen Amell really hopes to see Deathstroke come back. Appearing at the Heroes and Villains Fan Fest last weekend (via ComicBook.com), Amell reaffirms what many Arrow fans have been saying: the show feels incomplete without Slade Wilson, and he needs to return. “Manu [Bennett] is a character,…

Recap: SUPERGIRL Season 1, Episode 11 “Strange Vistors From Another Planet”
Warning this review contains full spoilers. In last week’s recap I said that the series is at its best when it focuses on J’onn and Kara; this episode definitely delivers. It seems that J’onn accidentally alerted the white Martians when he was investigating Maxwell Lord a couple of episodes ago. What makes this one of my favorite episodes of the season is that we get to see more of J’onn’s backstory. We see flashbacks to Mars and he tells us what happened to his people. Seeing what happened to the Green Martians reminded me of the Holocaust, and you sense the anger in J’onn whenever the White Martians are mentioned. This…

LUCIFER Review – “Pilot”
Based on the eponymous 75-issue comic run by Mike Carey (itself a spin-off of Neil Gaiman’s Sandman), Lucifer tells the story of the titular lord of Hell (played by Tom Ellis) who chooses to leave his domain in favor of the mortal realm. While there, he eventually partners with LAPD detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German), and begins to assist her with homicide cases, viewing it as another outlet by which he can punish the wicked. And it is here that the pilot (and possibly the series as a whole) more or less derails. While the concept of Satan as an (anti) heroic figure is always going to be a hugely…

Kevin Smith Wants to See the DC Films and TV Shows Crossover Via the Multiverse
For years, fans have been debating whether or not DC’s television shows should cross over with Warner Bros.’ DC Extended Universe. Some want to see the likes of Arrow and The Flash connect to Justice League, while others think it is best to keep the two separate. Ezra Miller’s casting as the DCEU’s Flash and the Suicide Squad movie, among other things, confirmed once and for all that the two mediums did not exist in the same universe. However, is a Multiverse a possibility? Kevin Smith recently co-hosted The CW’s “Dawn of the Justice League” special, which offered a new look at the DCEU, with Geoff Johns. Appearing on his…

DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: “Pilot, Part 1” Review
As the third installment in The CW‘s live-action DC universe, Legends Of Tomorrow has been hotly anticipated, and having finally premiered last night, now is an excellent time to dive into what might be the one of the most accurate representations of a classic comic-book tone out of print media. Legends Of Tomorrow follows 22nd century “Time-Master” Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) as he assembles a team of supporting characters from the “CWverse” (Sara Lance/White Canary and Ray Palmer/The Atom of Arrow in addition to Professor Martin Stein & Jefferson Jackson/Firestorm, Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Carter Hall/Hawkman, Leonard Snart/Captain Cold, and Mick Rory/Heatwave of The Flash) to perform missions throughout time in an effort to stop immortal warlord Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) before he can…
