With Birds of Prey finally rounding out its cast, Huntress actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Fargo) gives us some details on her preparation for the role. In an interview with The Wrap, Winstead said: I’m going to start training, and I’ll be learning how to shoot a bow and arrow, too — which is new for me. VENOM Sets New October Record with $80 Million Opening Weekend
Despite negative reception from critics, audiences seem to be more on board with Sony’s Venom. The film, which is intended to launch Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters (SUMC), has been tracking higher and higher for a big opening weekend. And now, the early estimates are in. Venom opened with $80.3 million this weekend. This easily sets a new record for an October opening, surpassing 2013’s Gravity ($55.7 million). It also comes ahead of Warner Bros.’ A Star Is Born, which too exceeded expectations with $42.9 million.
