Hawkman Will Appear in DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the third series in The CW’s ongoing take on the DC Universe, held its Comic-Con panel last night. There were plenty of teases regarding the show, but the biggest news is that yet another major DC character will appear. It has been confirmed that Hawkman will debut in the series. It probably shouldn’t be that surprising, given the fact that Hawkman’s frequent love interest, Hawkgirl, is a member of the main cast. However, no casting for Hawkman was announced. Big Bad for THE FLASH Season Two Revealed; Jay Garrick, Patty Spivot and More Confirmed
The Flash held its Comic-Con 2015 panel last night, and plenty of new details regarding its second season were revealed. The show’s crew confirmed that original Flash Jay Garrick will indeed appear next season, after an Easter egg in the season one finale. Garrick, played by Masters of Sex‘s Teddy Sears, is described as “a mysterious figure who arrives in Central City to warn Barry Allen and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs of an impending danger that he alone cannot hope to stop.” He will be one of several characters this season who will originate from Earth 2. After Oliver Queen retired as The Arrow in the Arrow season three finale, star Stephen Amell said that that persona is indeed dead, and he will no longer put on the costume. New Promo for The CW Seed’s VIXEN Released; Premiere Date Announced
The Vixen animated series from The CW Seed is one of many shows that will be present at the DC Television Comic-Con panel tonight, but right now, we have our first official look at the spin-off. The network has released a sizzle reel featuring various clips from the show. Arrow, Flash and Cisco Ramon all appear in this promo. The CW Seed has also confirmed that Vixen, which serves as a six-episode origin story for the iconic DC character, is set to premiere on August 25th, a little over a month from now. Looks Like the GREEN LANTERN Reboot Has an Official Title
At Comic-Con today, Warner Bros. debuted its DC segment with a sizzle reel teasing its film slate. The video contained concept art and logos for these movies, such as 2020’s Green Lantern reboot. Recently, it was rumored that the actor playing Lantern – Chris Pine? – would be announced at the panel today. While that didn’t happen, we have another interesting Green Lantern tidbit. A logo shown for the Green Lantern film has revealed its title: Green Lantern Corps. Last night, it was announced at Comic-Con that one of DC’s 2016 animated films will be an adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke. DC Announces Animated Movie Slate for 2016, Including BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE Adaptation
Following the world premiere of Justice League: Gods and Monsters at Comic-Con last night, DC and Bruce Timm announced which three animated movies would be released in 2016.
