DC Films’ Aquaman has been an absolute juggernaut, setting new box office highs for the franchise. This week, the movie has now reached a new milestone, as it continues its quest to $1 billion worldwide. Disney Won’t Be Making STAR WARS Movies for Streaming Service
Disney is planning a lot of exclusive content for its streaming service, titled Disney+. Among the new projects are two original shows set in the Star Wars universe. One, titled The Mandalorian, follows a lone gunfighter after the events of Return of the Jedi. The other focuses on Cassian Andor, and it takes place before Rogue One. DC Reportedly Adapting BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN As a Two-Part Animated Movie
DC Entertainment has looked to Batman stories when it comes to much of its animated movie slate. Now, it appears that the company is tackling one of the Dark Knight’s most iconic tales for its next animated event. THE BATMAN Now Eyeing a November Production Start
Last we heard on The Batman, writer-director Matt Reeves said that he was hoping to start shooting in the spring or summer of 2019. Then, we received word that Warner Bros. is in no rush to release the movie, so it could be until 2021 or later before it hits theaters. The CW Sets Pilot Order for BATWOMAN
Ruby Rose’s Batwoman made her debut in the three-part “Elseworlds” Arrowverse crossover on The CW. In that story, Green Arrow, Flash, and Supergirl travel to Gotham City to confront Dr. John Deegan over his changes to reality. Along the way, they meet Kate Kane, aka Batwoman, who has become Gotham’s new vigilante after the mysterious disappearance of Batman (and Bruce Wayne). Marvel’s The Punisher was a hit on Netflix back in 2017, with a second season being ordered shortly afterwards. ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL Heading to Blu-Ray and Digital This Month
In December, 20th Century Fox released a new version of Deadpool 2, titled Once Upon a Deadpool, in theaters for two weeks. The film is a PG-13 edition of the hit sequel, anchored by a framing story featuring Wade Wilson and Fred Savage. Fox donated $1 for every ticket sold to “Fudge Cancer.” The movie grossed about $7 million, adding to Deadpool 2‘s theatrical total. Now, the film is hitting home video. DC Films’ Aquaman continues to overperform at the box office, and today, it has passed a key milestone that sets it on track for a new high in the franchise. AVENGERS: ENDGAME Headlines Fandango’s Most Anticipated Movies of 2019
Fandango has released its annual survey, where moviegoers are surveyed on their most anticipated movies of 2019. And unsurprisingly, Marvel Studios is headlining it with its most anticipated blockbuster yet. Avengers: Endgame tops the Most Anticipated Movie category, followed by Marvel’s Captain Marvel in second place. Other names included are M. MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL Trailer Released
Sony has released the first trailer for Men in Black International, a spinoff from the original trilogy. In this movie, Agent M (Tessa Thompson) joins the MIB organization, being paired with Agent H (Chris Hemsworth).
