BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: Updates On Michigan Budget And Enhanced Security
With production set to begin next month, we have a couple of updates for Batman vs. Superman‘s pre-production. First up, according to CBS Detroit, the Man of Steel follow-up will invest $131M in filming in Michigan. Keep in mind that this isn’t the complete budget, just the amount that will be used in production in this area. As expected, this will create hundreds of jobs for crew members and about 6,000 for extras. And as previously reported, the movie will be the biggest ever filmed in Michigan, surpassing Oz: The Great and Powerful‘s 2011 shoot. Michelle Grinnell, public relations manager for the Michigan Film Office, had this to say in…

SUICIDE SQUAD Movie Script Review Reveals Character Details And More
In celebration of New Year’s Day, Bleeding Cool has posted a review of Justin Marks’ script for Suicide Squad. The Street Fighter scribe was hired to adapt the DC comic back in 2011, and Warner Bros. is still interested in making the supervillain team-up. The site previously said that it was one of the planned low-budget DC movies, and the studio is currently looking for directors – two of which have declined. Bleeding Cool then gets into a review of the script, focusing on how close it is to the comic. The seven team members are Deadshot, Vixen, Boomerang, Blockbuster, Multiplex, Jaculi and Mindboggler. The first three are the focus of the script.…

ARROW’s Andrew Kreisberg Discusses Competition From AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. And Other Comic Book Shows
With a very solid first season and a near-flawless second season, many haven’t hesitated to call Arrow the best live action comic book series ever. However, the series did face some competition this year with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which airs on ABC. While the Avengers spin-off has more weekly viewers than Arrow‘s usual, fans commonly consider the CW series to be of higher quality. Speaking with TV Line, Arrow executive producer Andrew Kreisberg comments on this apparent competition. “We don’t really feel like we’re in competition with anybody else. We’re only trying to outdo ourselves as we move forward.” The next couple years are going to be big for comic…

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Teases Involvement With Unspecified DC Movie Project
Quickly becoming one of the biggest action stars of the decade, Dwayne Johnson is one actor that many fans want to see in a comic book movie. Years ago, when a Shazam film was in development, “The Rock” was in talks to play the villainous Black Adam. More recently, he was negotiating to play DC’s Lobo, but he later said that it wasn’t happening. However, Johnson said earlier this year that he was confident he will land a superhero movie role someday. Now, it looks like that day has come. During a “#RockTalk” Twitter Q&A session, Johnson was asked once more about the possibility of a Marvel or DC role, and…

DC Entertainment: A Year in Review – Part 4 [Video Games]
2013 was a particularly monumental year for DC Entertainment. A movie universe featuring its iconic characters is finally moving forward, while a number of new television shows were announced. As usual, animated adaptations for both film and TV were unveiled, and a slew of video games were released. The following is the fourth and final part of my review of all the DC news from this year. It will cover all the video news from DC Entertainment that hit in 2013. Arguably the biggest DC game released this year was Injustice: Gods Among Us, a fighting game from Mortal Kombat creators NetherRealm. Set in an alternate reality, the story pits…

Leaked Page From THE FLASH Script (2011) Featuring A Key Post-Credits Cameo
Back in 2010, a year before Green Lantern hit theaters, screenwriters Marc Guggenheim, Greg Berlanti and Michael Green were working on not only a sequel to that film, but an adaptation of The Flash. Of course, Green Lantern‘s critical and financial failure made the future of both projects uncertain. While there are apparently no plans to bring Green Lantern back to the big screen, The Flash was more recently reported to be on track for a 2016 release, with Berlanti possibly directing. Geoff Johns and Chris Brancato are also said to be involved with writing the script. Additionally, rumor has it that The Flash will make some kind of appearance…
