Chris Pine Rumored to be Playing Green Lantern; Common Still Interested in Role
It was recently reported that Warner Bros. had finally found an actor to play Green Lantern in the DC Cinematic Universe. Currently, little is known about this incarnation of the character; his solo movie is dated for June 19th, 2020, but he will first make his debut in 2017’s Justice League Part One and 2019’s Justice League Part Two. Character Descriptions for The Three New Characters in Untitled ARROW/THE FLASH Spin-Off
A couple weeks ago, it was announced that The CW was developing an untitled spin-off series featuring characters from Arrow and The Flash. So far, it stars Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer/Atom, Victor Garber as Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart/Captain Cold and, surprisingly, Caity Lotz, who played the now deceased Sara Lance on Arrow. It was also said the spin-off would introduce three new DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a (presumably live action) television series before. After Tom Hardy dropped out of playing Rick Flagg in Suicide Squad, Warner Bros. began searching for an actor to replace him. Jake Gyllenhaal turned down the role, while Joel Edgerton, Karl Urban and Jon Bernthal were all rumored to be in the running. Eventually, Joel Kinnaman was reported to be set to play Flagg. With Suicide Squad set to begin production next month, actor Jai Courtney has finally commented on preparing for his role as Captain Boomerang. Speaking with Access Hollywood, Courtney discussed the pre-production status of the movie, saying that the cast is finally meeting together this week. “Everyone’s been in training, but we’re yet to kind of all converge and get down, but that’s happening this week. First Look at Melissa Benoist Suited Up as CBS’ SUPERGIRL
Production began on CBS’ Supergirl pilot this week, and DC Entertainment has now released the first official images of actress Melissa Benoist suited up as the iconic heroine. The costume looks very similar to the classic comic book version, but of course, it has a few tweaks – most noticeably the lack of yellow behind the ‘S’ symbol. The Supergirl costume was designed by Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who created the suits for Arrow and The Flash. DC TV News Bits: New VIXEN Details, More SUPERGIRL Casting, Jada Pinkett Smith Not Returning for GOTHAM Season 2
Arrow‘s Marc Guggenheim recently appeared at Long Beach Comics Expo (via Comic Book Resources) alongside wife and Agent Carter executive producer Tara Butters, and the two spoke about their respective comic book shows. Guggenheim offered an update on the animated spin-off Vixen, which will premiere on The CW Seed later this year. He revealed that Stephen Amell and Grant Gustin will reprise their role as Arrow and The Flash, respectively, in the digital series. Additionally, Vixen‘s tone will be closer to The Flash‘s than Arrow‘s.
