Netflix Sets First Slate of Millarworld Movies and Shows
Last year, Netflix acquired comic book creator Mark Millar’s company, Millarworld. The streaming service intends to create original movies and shows that are based on Millar’s work. Now, we have an initial slate. Netflix has announced (via The Hollywood Reporter) that two shows and three movies based on Millarworld creations have been ordered. These five projects make up the first slate of the new deal, which is worth somewhere between $30-50 million. Millar says, “My wife Lucy and I are 11 months into our jobs at Netflix and it’s everything we hoped for to the power of 10.” The first series is Jupiter’s Legacy, which is being showrun by Daredevil‘s…

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY Heading to Home Video This Fall
While Solo: A Star Wars Story did well with critics, the film was anything but spectacular at the box office. The movie, which had a production budget between $250 million and $300 million (if not more), only grossed $212 million domestically and $385 million worldwide. These are really bad numbers for a Star Wars movie, especially with a massive budget. There’s still hope that home video sales will give it a boost, and now, we know when that will happen. It has been announced that Solo is heading to digital platforms on September 14th, before going to 4K, Blu-Ray and DVD on September 25th. The home video release will have the…

Review: ATTACK ON TITAN Live Action (Part One)
If your franchise gets popular enough, a live-action treatment is bound to happen. This movie is the first part of a live-action adaptation of the titan-sized franchise that I have posted about for the last four days. The synopsis goes like season one of the anime; we follow the likes of Eren Jaeger and his friend’s training so that they can be apart of the army that fights against the Titans, humanoid monsters who feeds on people like they were strawberries on a bush. I was first thinking of doing a video review for this movie. If I did that, you would have me sit there in chock, and an…

Sam Witwer Joins SUPERGIRL Season 4 in Series Regular Role
Casting is underway for new characters on The CW’s Arrowverse, including Supergirl. Today, the show (which is entering its fourth season) has added a major new player to the cast. It has been announced that Sam Witwer has joined the cast of Supergirl as a series regular for this season. (Shout out to Discussing Film for breaking the news earlier.) He will play Agent Liberty, who is described as “…the founder and figurehead of the Children of Liberty – a hate group that supports a human-first world order. Ruthless and terrifying, the scariest thing about Agent Liberty might be just how easily he can convince you that he’s in the…

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Won’t Be Part of the Next Arrowverse Crossover
Fans were excited to hear that this year’s annual Arrowverse crossover event will center around Batwoman and Gotham City. In fact, Batwoman is going to be the star of her own series soon. However, it looks like one show won’t be part of the event. According to Entertainment Weekly, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is sitting out this year’s crossover. The event will consist of Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash. No reason why Legends will be absent. It’s also unclear if this rules out any Legends characters in the event or just its episode that week. In 2016 and 2017, The CW crossed over all four shows for epic crossover events.…

SHAZAM! Covers Entertainment Weekly’s Exclusive SDCC 2018 Issue
Entertainment Weekly has revealed its second San Diego Comic-Con 2018 cover, which will be available exclusively online and at the convention. This cover brings DC Films’ next big hero to the spotlight. The cover features Zachary Levi suited up as the titular hero in Shazam!, which will be part of Warner Bros. and DC’s panel this Saturday. The magazine also has some quotes from Levi, who pitches the film as “Superman Meets Big.” He also says that, unlike many modern superheroes, Billy Batson will actually love being a hero and can’t wait to use his powers. Producer Peter Safran chimes in, reaffirming that Shazam! will have a much lighter tone…

BATWOMAN TV Series in the Works
Batwoman is coming to The CW! But wait. You’re confused. You already knew this from reading this article HERE? There’s more! We’re getting a Batwoman TV series! Hollywood Reporter has the details, but we’ll give you the gist. The series will star Kate Kane, DC Comic’s prominent LGBTQ superhero, street fighter extraordinaire, working on overcoming her demons. Kate will still be officially introduced in the crossover in December, but Greg Berlanti and Caroline Dries(Vampire Diaries, Smallville) are working on writing some scripts for the character if The CW should choose to greenlight a series. It would probably end up being a 13-episode arc for the first season, like…

Review: Attack on Titan Junior High
Attack on Titan; a dark, gritty franchise, filled with death and despair. With the franchise being so popular, it’s a no brainer it should get a spin off right? What about a comedy spin-off? Cause that’s what we’re going to talk about, the Attack on Titan comedy spin-off, Attack on Titan Junior High. Yes, you read that right. Attack on Titan Junior High is a comedy (a slice of life comedy to be exact). Putting the name Attack on Titan and the word comedy next to each other feels like I’m eating a broccoli soup where the main ingredient is supposed to be an oreo dipped in chocolate cream. In…
